JARED GREISMAN SUCCESSFUL IN ARGUING IN NEW YORK'S HIGHEST COURT AGAINST OPEN-ENDED EXPOSURE FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTORS
The New York Court of Appeals, the State's highest court, recently upheld the dismissal of a series of cases by various towns and villages seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in alleged damages to their roadways and subsurface utilities from various contractors who installed sewers many years ago. The decision has far-reaching impact since it halted the open-ended exposure that the towns and villages were attempting to impose on public works contractors. The many Defendant Contractors, their counsel and their Insurers selected WF&F Partner Jared Greisman as the one defense counsel to argue the consolidated appeal.
